What We Collect
Zephyr collects only what we need to improve routing accuracy and provide our service:
- Account information: Email address and display name when you create an account.
- RV specifications: Vehicle type, height, weight, and length — used to personalize wind and elevation warnings.
- Route data: Routes you plan and launch are stored to track usage and improve the service.
- Anonymous feedback: Trip accuracy ratings stored with an anonymous ID that cannot be linked back to your account.
What We Don't Collect
- Real-time GPS location
- Precise trip origin/destination addresses in feedback data
- Device identifiers
- Contact lists
- Payment card details (handled entirely by Stripe)
How We Use Your Data
- Personalize wind and elevation warnings for your specific RV
- Track free tier usage (route launches)
- Improve routing accuracy through anonymous feedback
- Display your public profile if you opt in
Third-Party Services
- AWS: Infrastructure and data storage (United States)
- Stripe: Payment processing — we never see your card details
- Google Maps: Route navigation after you launch a trip
- Facebook: Optional login — we only request email and name
Data Sharing
We never sell your data to any third party. We never share personal data with advertisers. Your data is used exclusively to improve Zephyr's routing accuracy and feature set.
Your Rights
- You can make your profile private at any time
- You can opt out of the leaderboard at any time
- You can delete your account and all personal data at any time
- Anonymous feedback data may be retained after deletion as it cannot be linked to you
Data Deletion
To delete your account and all associated personal data, go to your Profile Settings and select "Delete Account." This permanently removes your profile, badges, trip history, and RV settings. Anonymous feedback you've submitted cannot be linked back to you and is retained to improve accuracy for other travelers.
You can also request deletion by emailing us at support@zephyr.travel.
Security
We use AWS infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We will notify users within 72 hours of any data breach affecting personal information.
California Residents (CCPA)
We comply with CCPA requirements for California residents. You have the right to know what data we collect, request deletion, and opt out of data sales (we don't sell data).
